Derek Schaumann is a percussion instructor based in Orlando, FL who strives to develop well rounded percussion musicians.  Mr. Schaumann works with students of varying age and skill levels, with the common goal to, “Make music, not noise.”

Areas of instruction include: marching percussion, orchestral percussion, and world percussion

Derek currently provides instruction to the following groups: Edgewater High School, College Park Middle School and Lockhart Middle School. In addition to his current instructional commitments, he is a founding and current member of the Orlando Firefighters Pipes & Drums, founding member and past executive board member for Impact of Orlando, and past member of Heatwave Drum & Bugle Corps.  He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
